U of T Greenhouses at Allan Gardens

The historic U of T greenhouses served as a teaching facility for thousands of botany students when they stood for 70 years at the northwest corner of Queen's Park and College Street. With a $1.035 million contribution from U of T, and a unique partnership among U of T, the City of Toronto, and TD Bank Financial Group, our old greenhouses re-opened on October 13, 2004 as the Allan Gardens Children's Conservatory serving in a new role as a teaching facility for the children of Toronto.

The 2003 City of Toronto Architecture and Urban Design Awards have again recognized U of T's contribution to living and learning in Toronto for our significant buildings and outstanding architectural research.
